Phakic Intraocular Lens (IOL) or Implantable Contact Lens (ICL)
A Phakic IOL or ICL procedure may be suitable for patients with severe short-sightedness or long-sightedness that cannot be effectively treated with LASIK or PRK.
The procedure is similar to cataract surgery with implantation of an intraocular lens or implantable contact lens. This is performed without removal of the patients natural crystalline lens. The placement of an ICL is reversible.
